A good producer is many things. I should know.
Alex Hedges - Founder, Curious Connections
Every creative needs 'great producers.' But what does that actually mean for your business? For your culture? For the work you're trying to make? I've spent 25 years figuring that out from the inside. Let me help you get it right.
I'm a specialist advertising production recruiter based in London, working with creative agencies, production companies, brands, and post houses across the UK.
But I didn't start in recruitment. I started as a runner and worked my way to Managing Director across agencies like Mother, Saatchi & Saatchi, and BBH. I was a producer at RSA, Stink, and Outsider. At Saatchi's, I built the 'Inside Job' in-house production department from 6 people to 25, delivering over 200 productions a year including Cannes-winning work—a model that became the blueprint for Prodigious. As Managing Director of Assembly Rooms post-production house, I grew their roster and developed talent.
I've been the runner, the producer, the production manager, the hiring manager, and the MD. I know what great advertising production looks like from every angle—agency-side, production company, post-production, and brand in-house.
That's what makes my production recruitment different. When I place integrated producers, agency producers, EPs, production company line producers, or post-production specialists, I'm not guessing who'll succeed. I know. I've done these jobs, hired for these roles, and built the teams that deliver award-winning work.
Whether you're a creative agency looking for a senior producer, a brand building an in-house production team, or a production company seeking production talent to help grow your business, I find producers who actually make a difference.
Production Evolution Expert
The production job you're hiring for today barely existed a decade ago. Which is why you need someone who's evolved with the industry—not just observed it. I've worked across every production discipline from runner to MD.
The result? As a recruiter know which producers will adapt and thrive in your environment. And I can tell you why before you waste time on interviews that go nowhere.
Notable Achievements
After working my way up the production ladder from runner to producer, I spent four years working with one of the few female directors in the industry before moving agency-side at Mother.
At Saatchi & Saatchi, I built the 'Inside Job' department from scratch—growing the team from 6 to 25 people and delivering over 200 productions a year, including Cannes-winning work like Direct Line's 'Fleetlights.' That model became the blueprint for Prodigious across the entire network.
Later, as MD of Assembly Rooms, I grew their editor roster and created opportunities for talent to thrive. The constant? Behind every great campaign is a perfectly assembled team. I learned how to build those teams by doing it—now I help you do the same.
